A brace for assisting movement of a limb of a patient comprising a support member (1), said support member (1) being removably fixed to said limb, while encircling the joint that requires movement assistance. Such support member (1) allows said limb to move on a plane, such that the movement of said limb identifies an internal angle (A) and an external angle (B). A shock-absorbing device (2) is also provided, which is fixed to said support member.
