A method for producing a formulation of the synthetic endotracheal irrigant with a water content of about 98% (w/w) to about 99.9(w/w) and a total mineral content of less than about 5.0% (w/w), including a sodium content of less than about 2.0% (w/w). The synthetic endotracheal irrigant excludes protein.
