Disclosed is a device for measuring the distance from an obstacle for blind persons. The device comprises: a camera unit for taking an image of the user′s gaze direction； a detection unit for analyzing the image and detecting an obstacle in the moving path of the user； a distance measurement unit for measuring the distance between the obstacle and the user； a signal generation unit for generating a visual assistance signal using the measured distance； and a transmission unit for transmitting the generated visual assistance signal to the user.시각 장애인을 위한 장애물 거리 측정 단말기가 개시된다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 장애물 거리 측정 단말기는 사용자의 시선 방향의 영상을 촬영하는 카메라부, 상기 영상을 분석하여, 상기 사용자의 이동 경로에 있는 장애물을 감지하는 감지부, 상기 장애물과 상기 사용자 간의 거리를 측정하는 거리 측정부, 상기 측정된 거리를 이용해서 시각 보조 신호를 생성하는 신호 생성부 및 상기 생성된 시각 보조 신호를 사용자에게 전달하는 전달부를 포함한다.
