To provide a stabilizing agent or a stabilization method for suppressing the deterioration of carotenoid such as astaxanthin which is known to be useful for anti-aging or the like and maintaining the effect over a long period of time and to provide a composition for suppressing the deterioration acceleration of carotenoid generated when nicotinic acid amide is incorporated into a composition containing carotenoid in order to obtain an excellent cosmetic or the like by anti-aging effect or the like and maintaining the effect over a long period of time.SOLUTION: The combination of carotenoid such as astaxanthin and squalane exhibits a remarkable effect for preventing the discoloration of carotenoid such as astaxanthin or the like by light and stabilizing them and exhibits a remarkable suppressing effect in the deterioration acceleration of carotenoid generated when nicotinic acid amide is incorporated.SELECTED DRAWING: None【課題】老化防止等に有用であることが知られているアスタキサンチン等のカロテノイドの劣化を抑制し、その効果を長期にわたって維持させるための安定化剤や安定化方法を提供することである。さらに、抗老化効果等により優れた化粧料等を得るために、カロテノイドを含有する組成物にニコチン酸アミドを含有させた場合に生じるカロテノイドの劣化促進を抑制し、その効果を長期にわたって維持させた組成物の提供である。【解決手段】アスタキサンチン等のカロテノイドとスクワランとを組み合わせることにより、アスタキサンチン等のカロテノイドの光による褪色の防止や安定化に著しい効果を発揮することを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。また、ニコチン酸アミドを含有させた際に生じるカロテノイドの劣化促進においても著しい抑制効果を発揮することを見出した。【選択図】なし
