The present invention relates to a Lysimachia mauritiana extract or a fraction thereof having an effect of inhibiting the proliferation of varicella-zoster virus and hepatitis E virus. The Lysimachia mauritiana extract or the fraction thereof of the present invention inhibits the expression of an immediate early (IE) gene, an early (E) gene, and a late (L) gene for replication of varicella-zoster virus, and thus can inhibit the expression of an ORF2 region for replication of the hepatitis E virus. Therefore, the extract and the fraction can be usefully used for treating diseases cuaused by varicella-zoster virus or hepatitis E virus infection.본 발명은 수두-대상포진 바이러스 및 E형 간염 바이러스의 증식 억제 효능을 갖는 갯까치수영 추출물 또는 이의 분획물에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 갯까치수영 추출물 또는 이의 분획물은 수두-대상포진 바이러스의 복제를 위한 Immediate early(IE) 유전자, Early(E) 유전자, Late(L) 유전자의 발현을 억제하고, 또한 E형 간염 바이러스의 복제를 위한 ORF2 영역의 발현을 억제할 수 있으므로, 상기 추출물 및 분획물은 수두-대상포진 바이러스 또는 E형 간염 바이러스 감염으로 인한 질환의 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
