PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance management method for a surgical instrument capable of suppressing consumption of resources and reducing time and labor for maintenance work.SOLUTION: A complete set of instruments including surgical instruments of the same intended use, but of different sizes is prepared with an identification member to indicate whether or not a surgical instrument has been used in an operation attached to each of the surgical instruments. When the complete set of the instruments is returned after having been used in an operation, the surgical instruments in the complete set of the instruments are divided into used surgical instrument and unused surgical instruments based on the identification member of the surgical instruments.
