PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately set an imaging region and an imaging cross section in MRI imaging in a main imaging mode.
SOLUTION: For instance, in a pilot imaging mode for the purpose of setting the imaging cross section and the imaging region when generating the image data of a saggital cross section as the image data for diagnosing in the main imaging mode, saggital image data for positioning after image distortion correction and coronal image data for positioning before the image distortion correction are generated, and by correcting image distortion due to the non-uniformity of a static magnetic field or the nonlinearity of a gradient magnetic field or the like that the saggital image data before the correction have, new saggital image data for positioning are generated. Then, the imaging area of the image data for diagnosing is set on the basis of the saggital image data for positioning after the image distortion correction, and the imaging cross section of the image data for diagnosing is set on the basis of the coronal image data for positioning before the image distortion correction.
