PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber excellent in adhering property of water absorptive resin powder to a base material and also excellent in absorption quantity, the absorber being formed by fixing the water absorptive resin powder to the base material.SOLUTION: The absorber comprises a base material and water absorptive resin powder fixed to the base material by an adhesive agent. The base material is nonwoven fabric with a basis weight of 10 g/m-50 g/mand the adhesive agent has a penetration degree (JIS K 2235) of 10 or less. When the water absorptive resin powder is fixed using an adhesive agent with the penetration degree of 10 or less, the adhesive agent covering the water absorptive resin powder breaks easily by the swelling of the water absorptive resin powder. Thus the swelling of the water absorptive resin powder is not hindered by the adhesive agent, enabling the water absorptive resin powder to exhibit its absorption performance to the full extent.
