PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing capable of maintaining smooth rotation performance of a handle shaft and a pinion gear shaft even in a heavy load state, and securing precision of a support position of the handle shaft and the pinion gear shaft.SOLUTION: A reel for fishing includes a handle shaft 7 rotatably provided to a frame 2, a drive gear 8 provided to the handle shaft 7, a spool 5 rotatably driven through a pinion gear 9 that meshes with the drive gear 8, a side plate 3 fixed to the frame 2, and a support part 31 formed separately from the side plate 3.
