The present invention relates to a method for spectroscopical in-ovo gender determination of fertilized and incubated bird eggs comprising the steps of: a. providing a number of passages in an egg shell of an egg for allowing entrance into an interior of the egg and/or exit from the interior of the egg of electromagnetic waves suitable for spectroscopy, b. introducing electromagnetic waves into the interior of the egg； c. detecting electromagnetic waves exiting the egg； d. analysing, by spectroscopy, of the exiting electromagnetic waves at at least one passage of the number of passages； and e. determining the gender of a chicken embryo.La présente invention concerne un procédé de détermination du sexe in ovo par spectroscopie d'œufs d'oiseaux fertilisés et incubés comprenant les étapes consistant à : a. créer un certain nombre de passages dans une coquille d'un œuf pour permettre l'entrée dans un intérieur de l'œuf et/ou la sortie depuis l'intérieur de l'œuf d'ondes électromagnétiques appropriées pour la spectroscopie ； b. introduire des ondes électromagnétiques dans l'intérieur de l'œuf ； c. détecter des ondes électromagnétiques sortant de l'œuf ； d. analyser, par spectroscopie, les ondes électromagnétiques sortant au niveau d'au moins un passage parmi les multiples passages ； et e. déterminer le sexe d'un embryon de poulet.
