PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide filled silicone compositions useful for manufacturing an acoustic lens adaptable to acoustic impedance of human tissues.SOLUTION: The new filled silicone compositions include a nanoparticulate metal oxide filler selected from nanoparticulate monoclinic alpha-phase bismuth oxide, nanoparticulate erbium oxide and mixtures thereof. The new composite compositions exhibit a combination of outstanding performance characteristics in both cured and uncured states.
