The present invention provides a sustained release pharmaceutical preparation for administration of the protein to the eye. In particular, the present invention provides a formulation containing the single chain antibody and a hydrophobic polyester hexyl substituted polylactic acid (hexPLA). Furthermore, the invention also provides processes and their medical applications for the production of sustained release pharmaceutical preparations.
