PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capsule medical device which moves well in a tubular lumen of a living body by propulsion, and prevents an attachment from attaching on an observation window to keep the cleanliness of the observation window by using a drive force of a drive source of a propulsion generating device with a simple structure, for obtaining a good observed image by an imaging device.
SOLUTION: The capsule medical device 1 includes: an imaging means 24, which is housed in a device body 2, for imaging the inside of a tubular lumen from an observation window 11 a covering means 8 which is mounted movably and has an opening 8a formed in a covering surface 18 for covering the observation window 11 a propulsion generating means 6 for generating propulsion in a subjects body by driving, a driving means 31 for common-driving of the covering means 8 and the propulsion generating means 6 at the same time and a control means 25 for synchronizing the timing for taking the subjects image by the imaging means 24 and the timing for corresponding the opening 8a of the covering surface 18 and the observation window 11, and controlling the driving means 31 for driving the covering means 8.
