An assistance device for assisting in the operation of an injection syringe (26) comprising a syringe body (28) carrying an injection needle (30) covered with a protective cap (32). The assistance device (24) comprises a support (34) in which the syringe body (28) is intended to be housed, and a removal device (36) for removing the protective cap (32), comprising a gripping member (40), intended to be manoeuvred by a user in order to remove this protective cap (32) from the injection needle (30), and at least one extractor (46) cooperating with the protective cap (32) during removal of the protective cap (32). The removal device (36) also comprises complementary members (50, 52) for controlling the extractor (46), which can be moved relative to each other in a relative engagement movement, in order to move the extractor (46) between a reference configuration retracted relative to the protective cap (32) and a cooperation configuration cooperating with the protective cap (32).
