PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the air permeability of a heat-deformable orthopedic fixing material containing a thermoplastic resin, to make it difficult for cracks to be generated in a bent portion at the time of deformation, to prevent peeling even when attached, and to reduce the weight. Try. SOLUTION: The fixing material 10 for orthopedic surgery adopts a structure which is composed of a wire rod 11 containing a thermoplastic resin and a filler, and is formed into a mesh structure by interlacing the wire rod 11. Since it has a mesh-like structure, it has a larger void as compared with a conventional plate-shaped fixing material for orthopedic surgery, and has improved breathability and reduced weight. Since the wire contains not only the thermoplastic resin but also the filler, the strength is improved as compared with the case where the thermoplastic resin is used alone. When the orthopedic fixing material is pasted, the wires softened by heating become entangled with each other on the pasting surface, so that they are difficult to peel off.
