The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating liver diseases containing a flavonoid derivative isolated from Sicyos angulatus as an active component, wherein the flavonoid derivative prevents excessive accumulation of fat in liver cells, and reduces hepatocyte toxicity by alcohol.
