The present invention has as its object the production of antagonistic microorganisms and metabolites in a liquid medium, economically compatible with agricultural production, dispensing the process of iron removal from the medium for the production of siderophores and other metabolites that potentiate the antagonist activity through the recovery. of the microorganism and the molecular complex formed during its growth, without the need for a separation step, and, optionally, its immobilization in an appropriate substrate to obtain compositions for biological control of phytopathogens. One embodiment of the invention relates to a composition containing siderophore producing microorganisms and other substrate immobilized metabolites preferably comprising earth, optionally in admixture with one or more agriculturally acceptable materials. A second alternative relates to a composition containing the metabolite producing microorganisms and a suitable carrier for use in the preservation of human and animal products against spoilage causing microorganisms.
