A sagittal saw blade wherein the teeth are arranged so that relative to theteeth located closer to the outer sides of the blade, the inner located teethare located closer to the proximal end of the blade. The blade is furtherformed to have an opening between at least two of the teeth that extendsproximally rearward. The opening increases in width as the opening extendsproximally along the length of the blade. The opening opens into a void spacethat functions as a chip catchment space.
