An herbicidal composition containing synergistically effective amounts of: (A) pyridate or a salt thereof； and (B) at least one species of sulfonylurea-based compound selected from the group consisting of flazasulfuron, nicosulfuron, trifloxysulfuron, chlorimuron and alkyl esters thereof, halosulfuron and alkyl esters thereof, and salts thereof.
