The adaptor bush (3) enables variation in the diameters of pipes/hoses used in farming water reticulation systems to allow coupling of differently sized control units which include a spigot (2). The adaptor bush (3) formed of plastics is suitable for mounting and fluidly connecting a float valve assembly comprising a float valve body (1) with an inlet spigot (2) to a pipe inlet system which enters a trough through a trough mounting insert. The adaptor bush (3) comprises a substantially cylindrical body with an open-ended bore (4). The open-ended bore (4) includes an externally threaded screw thread (12) formed on at least part of an outer periphery surface (4c). The open-ended bore (4) further comprises an internal screw thread (6) formed about at least part of the open-ended bore (4). At one end of the open-ended bore (4) an internal circumferential flange (7) is adapted in use to form a seal supporting shoulder (8) on an inner side thereof. An external shoulder (13) comprising spanner flats is provided on the cylindrical body at an opposite end to the internal flange (7).
