PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for a medical instrument in which a situation of change of each component of an electrical system, a fluid system and a mechanism system of the medical instrument is monitored visually based on a simpler and inexpensive configuration, and indications of failures and failure status are easily grasped and quick restoration to a normal state of the medical instrument is made possible.SOLUTION: A monitoring system 1 for a medical instrument of the present invention has, for example, visualization means 71, 81, 91-97 for visualizing a situation of change of each component of an electrical system, a fluid system and a mechanism system of a dental treatment unit, imaging means 55 for imaging the visualization means 71, 81, 91-97, and image processing control means 41 for processing the image information of the visualization means 71, 81, 91-97 imaged by the imaging means 55 and providing it in monitoring of an observer as a failure indication presence and a failure situation image.
