PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer capable of determining a failure/non-failure of a fluid system by causing a user to perform a simple operation without using a special tool.SOLUTION: A sphygmomanometer includes a cuff 24 to be wound around a measuring object site. The sphygmomanometer includes, as elements for measuring the blood pressure, a unit including a pump 25, a valve 26, a pressure sensor 28, and internal piping 27 for connecting the pump, the valve, and the pressure sensor to each other so as to flow fluid. The sphygmomanometer further includes a connecting pipe 22 for fluid-communicably connecting the cuff and the internal piping in the unit to each other. Further, the sphygmomanometer includes a self failure diagnosis part 2 for determining a failure/non-failure of a fluid system 30 including the pump, the valve, the pressure sensor, and the cuff, in a state where the cuff is vacantly wound around into a cylindrical shape and a capacity of the cuff is regulated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11【課題】ユーザが特別の治具を用いることなく簡単な操作を行うのみで、流体系の故障の有無を判定できる血圧計を提供する。【解決手段】被測定部位に巻き付けられるべきカフ２４を備える。血圧測定のための要素として、ポンプ２５、弁２６、圧力センサ２８、および、これらのポンプ、弁、圧力センサを互いに流体流通可能に接続する内部配管２７を含むユニットを備える。カフとユニット内の内部配管とを互いに流体流通可能に接続する連絡配管２２を備える。カフが筒状に空巻きされてカフの容量が規制された状態で、ポンプ、弁、圧力センサ、内部配管、連絡配管、および、カフを含む流体系３０の故障の有無を判定する自己故障診断部２を備える。【選択図】図１１
