PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination imaging device and a sight line detection device which drives an imaging element by a rolling shutter method, the illumination imaging device being capable of suppressing blurring of an image and heat generation of a light source as well as preventing coexistence of exposures made with different detection light beams on one horizontal line, to thereby allow acquisition of a high-definition bright pupil image and a dark pupil image suitable for sight line detection.SOLUTION: The illumination imaging device comprises: a light source for providing bright pupil detection light and dark pupil detection light to a subject eye； a light source control unit for switching between the bright pupil detection light and the dark pupil detection light and pulse-driving the light source； and an imaging element having a plurality of pixels arranged horizontally and vertically.
