The present invention provides a disposable pants-type wearing article improved so as to eliminate a possibility that elastic members attached to peripheral edges of respective leg-openings might irritate the wearers skin. The disposable pants-type wearing article has a band-like elastic member having a width dimension in a range of 5 to 60 mm and extending along peripheral edges of leg-openings so as to go half around each of the leg-openings. The elastic member comprises opposite end segments each lying in the uppermost zone of the leg-opening, a middle segment lying in the lowermost zone of the leg-opening and extending across a crotch region and intermediate segments each extending between the associated end segment and the middle segment wherein the intermediate segments are not bonded to sheet material constituting the wearing article.
