A positioning cartridge is disclosed for use during manufacture of anelectrode. Thepositioning cartridge may have a plurality of positioning inserts, each withproximal and distalends, and a scaffold secured to the proximal ends of each positioning insert.The scaffold maybe configured to place the positioning inserts in a defined orientation withrespect to each otherthat corresponds to a plurality of longitudinal bores of the electrode. Anelectrode may bemanufactured using the positioning cartridge. The positioning cartridge mayhave a plurality ofcomponents, such that at least one component is associated with eachpositioning insert. Theplurality of components may be temperature sensors. The positioning cartridgemay beconfigured to position each temperature sensor at a location adjacent an outersurface of theelectrode.
