PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus capable of performing a start-up inspection of a gamma ray detector without using RI. A medical image diagnostic apparatus includes an X-ray tube 32, an X-ray detector 33, a gamma ray detector 23, and a generation unit. The X-ray tube irradiates X-rays. The X-ray detector detects the X-rays emitted from the X-ray tube. The gamma ray detector detects gamma rays emitted from a radiation source administered to a subject. The generation unit generates image data by detecting X-rays emitted from an X-ray tube with a gamma ray detector.
