A composition comprises or consists essentially of peroxidized lipids, in particular in the form of a peroxidized vegetable oil, for the care or treatment of the breasts during premenstrual or menstrual phases and also for the care or treatment of the symptomatology of mastodynia. Preferably, the peroxidized lipids are glycerol triesters (abbreviated to TGO), such as a peroxidized vegetable oil, such as corn oil. The composition may comprise peroxidized lipids at 10% to 70% by weight； 0.1% to 10% by weight of an active agent or excipient with a thickening function； 0.1% to 10% by weight of an active agent or excipient to solublise the peroxidized lipids； and 0.1% to 10% by weight of a broad spectrum anti-microbial agent. The thickening agent may be ammonium acryloyldimethyl taurate/VP copolymer. The solubilizing agent may be hydrogenated castor oil modified with polyethylene glycol. Preferably the composition comprises allantoin at from 0.1% to 2% by weight.
