A co-axial catheter assembly including a first lumen having a first distalend, a first proximal end, and a longitudinal axis extending therethrough. Thecatheterfurther includes a second lumen having a second distal end and a secondproximal end.The second lumen extends co-axially with the first lumen, wherein the secondlumen is atleast partially disposed within the first lumen and the second distal endextends distally ofthe first distal end. The second distal end includes a distal tip and mayinclude a bulbousprojection disposed between the distal tip and the first distal end. Acatheter hub providesfor fluid connections of the inner and outer lumens with respective extensiontubes, andincludes spacers that maintain the proximal end of the inner lumenconcentrically withinthe proximal end of the outer lumen and the distal end of the inner lumenconcentricallywithin the distal end of the outer lumen, respectively. A method ofmanufacturing thecatheter is also disclosed.
