The present invention includes an apparatus for processing solid waste products, the apparatus comprising: (a) a rotatably mounted cylindrical vessel having a first end and a second end, a hatch at both the first end and the second end that may be opened to allow access to the interior of the vessel to a respective first and second environmental space outside the interior of the vessel, and sealably closed to allow pressurization of the vessel (b) a steam inlet for injecting steam into at least one of the ends and (c) an environmental barrier for at least partially separating the environments of the first and second environmental space.La présente invention inclut un appareil permettant de traiter les déchets solides, lequel appareil comprend : (a) une cuve cylindrique montée de manière à pouvoir tourner qui est dotée dune première extrémité et dune seconde extrémité, dune trappe située à la fois sur la première extrémité et sur la seconde extrémité qui peut être ouverte de manière à permettre laccès à la partie intérieure de la cuve dun premier et dun second espace denvironnement respectif à lextérieur de la partie intérieure de la cuve, et fermée hermétiquement de manière à permettre la mise sous pression de la cuve (b) un orifice darrivée de vapeur permettant dinjecter de la valeur dans au moins une des extrémités et (c) une barrière environnementale permettant de séparer au moins partiellement les environnements du premier et du second espace denvironnement.
