Provided is a coated implantable medical device, comprising: a substrate； anda coating disposed on said substrate,wherein said coating comprises at least one polymer and at least onepharmaceutical agent in a therapeutically desirable morphologyand/or at least one active biological agent and optionally, one or morepharmaceutical carrying agents； wherein substantially allof pharmaceutical agent and/or active biological agent remains within saidcoating and on said substrate until the implantabledevice is deployed at an intervention site inside the body of a subject andwherein upon deployment of said medical device in thebody of said subject a portion of said pharmaceutical agent and/or activebiological agent is delivered at said intervention sitealong with at least a portion of said polymer and/or a at least a portion ofsaid pharmaceutical carrying agents.
