The application presents and describes a method and an apparatus for measuring the killing effectiveness of a disinfectant for micro organisms and the spores thereof with a sensor system which has at least two sensors, wherein the at least two sensors are in contact with the disinfectant and the measured signals are collected by a computation unit which is connected to the sensor system. In order to reliably determine the sterilization effect of arbitrary disinfecting processes and disinfectants, provision is made for a validated germ reduction test to be performed during a signal capture in order to determine the germ reduction rate and for the measured signals to be put into a particular ratio to one another and for this to be used to calculate, for each state of the disinfectant, a particular pattern which is used as a basis for a reproducible ratio for signal data and sterilization effect. In this case, the sensor system has a plurality of sensors (M1, M2,..., Mn) which are combined to form a multisensor unit (1) which is connected to a computation unit (4).
