The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating an inflammatory disease containing a flavonoid-based compound extracted from a scutellaria baicalensis georgi as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a composition which contains a flavonoid-based compound extracted from a scutellaria baicalensis georgi as an active ingredient, exhibits anti-oxidant activity without affecting a cell survival rate, and exhibits excellent anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting a function of various proteins involved with the inflammatory reaction. The composition of the present invention inhibits the phosphorylation (activation) of ERK, JNK, and p38 proteins by an inflammatory reaction, inhibits the phosphorylation (activation) and degradation of I-B protein by the inflammatory reaction, inhibits metastasis in nucleus of NF-B p65 protein by the inflammatory reaction, inhibits an expression of COX-2 protein by the inflammatory reaction, inhibits an expression of iNOS protein by the inflammatory reaction, and inhibits an expression of cytokine (TNF- and IL-6) by the inflammatory reaction, thereby effectively preventing, alleviating, or treating an inflammatory disease.본 발명은 황금으로부터 추출된 플라보노이드계 화합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 염증성 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 황금으로부터 추출된 플라보노이드계 화합물을 유효성분으로 함유하여 세포의 생존률에는 영향을 미치지 않으면서 항산화력을 나타내고 염증반응에 관여하는 여러 단백질의 작용을 저해함으로써 우수한 항염증 활성을 나타내는 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 조성물은 염증반응에 의한 ERK, JNK, p38 단백질의 인산화(활성화) 저해, 염증반응에 의한 I-κB 단백질의 인산화(활성화) 저해 및 분해 저해, 염증반응에 의한 NF-κB p65 단백질의 핵(nucleus)내 전이 저해, 염증반응에 의한 COX-2 단백질의 발현 저해, 염증반응에 의한 iNOS 단백질의 발현 저해, 또는 염증반응에 의한 사이토카인(TNF-α, IL-6)의 발현 저해를 통해 효과적으로 염증성 질환을 예방, 개선 또는 치료할 수 있다.
