A wound dressing comprising an absorbent core 2 of foam material having a regular array of perforations 5, and a wound-contact layer 3 bonded to a first face of the absorbent core and comprising gelling fibres, wherein at least the absorbent core 2 is impregnated with honey. The perforations 5 in the absorbent core 2 result in increased honey capacity, while the absorbent core 2 absorbs exudate, reducing dilution of the honey. A backing layer 3 is bonded to the opposite side of the absorbent core 2. The gelling fibres may be alginate, pectin, lyocell or modified CMC gelling fibres. The honey may be manuka honey.
