Disclosed herein is a composition comprising honey, such as Manuka honey, and a super-absorbent polymer fibre, such as OASIS super-absorbent fibre, and the use thereof as a dressing for the treatment of wounds. The composition may be in the form of a semi-solid pliable sheet wherein the sheet comprises at least one layer of a cellulose compressed material, such as tissue paper, or polyester, interspersed with at least one layer of the super-absorbent polymer fibre, the composition optionally coated with a gelling agent.
