The invention relates to a device for producing a bone cement paste (54) froma monomer liquid(4) and a cement powder (5) as parent components of the bone cement paste (54)and fordelivering the mixed bone cement paste (54), the device having a cartridge (1)with a cylindricalinterior, wherein the interior of the cartridge (1) is closed at a front sideapart from a deliveryopening for discharging the bone cement paste (54), wherein in the interior ofthe cartridge (1) adelivery plunger (7) is arranged which is pushable in the direction of thedelivery opening andwherein the cement powder (5) is arranged in the interior of the cartridge (1)between the deliveryopening and the delivery plunger (7), wherein a hollow cylinder (9) isarranged at a front side ofthe delivery plunger (7) facing the delivery opening, wherein the hollowcylinder (9) is open at itsfront face facing the delivery opening and extends from the front side of thedelivery plunger (7)at least 3 mm into the interior of the cartridge (1).The invention also relates to a method for producing a bone cement paste (54)using such adevice.
