A herbicidal composition which can be improvedin the effectiveness of a herbicidal active ingredient and can be appliedin a smaller amount in order to reduce environmental burdenon an area where a chemical is to be applied or on neighboring areas.Also provided is a method of applying the composition. Theherbicidal composition contains (1) a compound represented by theformula (1): (1) (wherein T and Z have the same meanings as definedin the description) or a salt thereof and (2) a polyoxyalkylene alkylether phosphate or a salt thereof. The method comprises using theherbicidal composition to control an undesirable plant or inhibit thegrowth thereof.
