A herbicidal composition which can be improved in the effectiveness of a herbicidalactive ingredient and can be applied in a smaller amount in order to reduce environmentalburden on an area where a chemical is to be applied or on neighboring areas. Alsoprovided is a method of applying the composition. The herbicidal compositioncontains (1) a compound represented by the formula (I): (I) (wherein T and Zhave the same meanings as defined in the description) or a salt thereof and (2)a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether phosphate or a salt thereof. The method comprisesusing the herbicidal composition to control an undesirable plant or inhibitthe growth thereof.
