PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packed drink which moderates a sour taste due to the lowering of pH occurring on thermal sterilization, distribution, and storage period, and eliminates "salt taste" accompanied by sliminess originated from a sodium salt having been used for packed drinks, and the characteristic tastes of a potassium salt and a calcium salt.
SOLUTION: The packed drink is characterized in that the content of the drink contains a base containing at least one kind of basic amino acid, wherein the content of the basic amino acid is such an amount that the pH of the content after thermally sterilized in the presence of the base is in a prescribed range, and the basic amino acid is a free form.
