The present invention is directed to a rapid release film coating composition for use in oral dosage forms such as compressed tablets and other oral ingested tablets containing heavy chain glycerides such as detackifiers. The film coating composition may be applied directly to the substrate or may be applied after the substrate is coated with a subcoat. In a preferred embodiment, the polymer is polyvinyl alcohol and the heavy chain glyceride is a mixture of capryl (8 carbon chains) and capric (10 carbon chains) monoester glycerin and diester glycerin.
