a system for outputting a three-dimensional (3D) bone model of a patientduringcomputer-assisted surgery comprises a processing unit and a non-transitorycomputer-readable memory communicatively coupled to the processing unit.Computer-readableprogram instructions executable by the processing unit are for: obtaining a 3Dbonemodel of at least part of a bone of a patient, registering landmark points ofthe bone ofthe patient corresponding to the 3D bone model in a coordinate system trackingthebone, the landmark points being in an area of expected high accuracy in the 3Dbonemodel, fitting the 3D bone model on the bone in the coordinate system trackingthebone, using the landmark points in the area of expected high accuracy,registeringadditional landmark points of the bone of the patient in the coordinate systemtrackingthe bone, the additional landmark points being in an area of evolutiveaccuracy,assessing the accuracy of the additional landmark points by comparing theregistrationof the additional landmark points to the 3D bone model, updating at least partof thearea of evolutive accuracy in the 3D bone model, and outputting the 3D bonemodel inthe coordinate system tracking the bone with the updated area of evolutiveaccuracy, forsubsequent navigation of the bone in computer-assisted surgery.
