PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide estimation of distributions of subject/background areas of images stored in a radiation image detector by irradiation of a subject with transmitted radiation before the completion of image reading.SOLUTION: By uniform irradiation of a radiation image detector with a radioactive ray, storage of first leak electric current value output from each signal line while holding electric charges corresponding to the dose of irradiating radiation, irradiation of the radiation image detector with the subject-transmitted radiation, collecting the second leak electric current value while holding electric charges corresponding to the dose of irradiating radiation, determination of the total pixels on the lines as the background area when the first/second leak electric current values are equal (lines A, C), and for each line corresponding to respective signal lines, determination of the total pixels on the lines as a mixture of subject/background areas when the second leak electric current value is smaller than that of the first leak electric current value (lines B, D and E), the total number of pixels in the background area on the lines can be obtained from ratios of the first/second leak electric current values.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】被写体を透過した放射線が照射されて放射線画像検出器に保持された画像における被写体/背景領域の分布具合を画像読出完了前に推定する。【解決手段】放射線画像検出器に放射線を一様に照射し、照射放射線量に応じた電荷が保持されている状態で各信号線から出力される第1リーク電流値を記憶しておき、被写体を透過した放射線を放射線画像検出器に照射し、照射放射線量に応じた電荷が保持されている状態で各信号線から出力される第2リーク電流値を取得し、各信号線に対応するライン毎に、第1/第2リーク電流値が等しければライン上の全画素が背景領域と判断し(ラインA,C)、第2リーク電流値が第1リーク電流値よりも小さく所定値より大きければライン上に被写体/背景領域が混在していると判断し(ラインB,D,E)、第1/第2リーク電流値の比率からライン上における背景領域の総画素数を求める。【選択図】図8
