Other joint areas (314a, 314b, 316a, 316b) extend from transverse edges (58, 60) of a waist section (4) and/or a rear section (6) towards longitudinal ends (98, 100) of a step section (8). The latter joint areas are formed by joint units in form of ultrasound-welding points, thermal welding points and/or calendar welding points so that the latter joint areas form stiffening areas (334a, 334b, 336a, 336b). The step section, the waist section and the rear section limit a leg opening (19) of the article.
