PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an anti-influenza virus composition that can be ingested on a daily basis without using ultracentrifugation and is excellent in safety.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a supernatant liquid is obtained by grating an edible portion of Chinese yam and sonicating it under appropriate conditions to lower the viscosity thereof. The resulting supernatant liquid is provided as an ingestible anti-influenza virus composition. An anti-influenza virus composition comprises storage protein DB2, which is obtained by grating the rhizomes or rhizophores of a Dioscorea plant. A method for producing anti-influenza virus composition comprising sonicating the granted product obtained by granting the rhizomes or rhizophores of a Dioscorea plant to lower the viscosity of the product to 0.005 Pas or less.
