The invention relates to a method, especially for use in the field of waste management, which can be used for drying size-reduced green waste wood and fuel wood or native-organic slurries. The aim of the invention is to provided a method for drying biomass which allows to quickly and permanently dry the biomass up to dry stabilization thereof. According to the inventive method for drying biomass, ventilation and air extraction devices are positioned within a bed. The arrangement allows for an even flow through the entire bed from the ventilation to the air extraction devices. A bed which consists entirely or partially from biomass is arranged in the form of a stack above the ventilation and air extraction devices and the bed, on its surface, is provided with a thermally insulating layer which is technically gastight and moisture repellant or moisture retaining.
