PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide transportation means for improving penetration of a cosmetically or pharmaceutically active compound into a skin stratum corneum in order to increase efficacy of formulations for topical application.SOLUTION: The porous particles are individualized porous particles having a volume-average diameter of &le10 &mum and a specific surface area of &ge1 m2/g and comprising at least one cosmetically or pharmaceutically active compound at least present inside the particles. The porous particles are e.g. organic porous particles chosen from particles of Nylon 6, Nylon 6-6, Nylon 12 and Nylon 6-12 and particles of poly(methyl methacrylate) or inorganic porous particles chosen from particles of silica, alumina-silica, hydroxyapatite and titanium dioxide.
