The present invention provides an apparatus for picking up excrement of animals. The apparatus includes a handle, a left shell and a right shell. The top of the handle forms a circular part. Two symmetrical arc connection pieces are extended from the bottom of the circular part. The left shell and the right shell are symmetric. The outer surfaces of the left and the right shells form two connection parts, respectively, for coupling with the connection pieces of the handle. In addition, a concaved groove is defined in the left shell and the right shell so that four fingers of a user can press onto one shell and the thumb of the user can attach to the other shell after the circular part is passed through by the users finger.
