In line with these efforts, people are trying to reduce time for salting cabbages and considering a four-section cutting method wherein a cabbage is cut into four pieces. However, cabbages have different sizes depending on a season and a production area. In addition, even cabbages produced in the same field have different sizes. Therefore, it is very difficult to accurately hold the center of a cabbage and to cut the cabbage into four pieces according to the size of the cabbage when the cabbage is cut into four pieces. An apparatus for cutting a cabbage into four pieces comprises: a V-type conveyer which can move in a left and right direction and can be separated from a main frame an infrared ray sensor which measures the height when a cabbage is transferred a central processing device which calculates the height of the center of the cabbage by using the height sensed by the infrared ray sensor and transmits a signal to a driving motor to locate a cutting saw blade on the height of the center of the cabbage a cabbage pressing plate which corrects displacement of the cabbage when the cabbage is transferred and presses down the cabbage from the upside to make the cabbage stably cut when the cabbage is cut a &prime8&prime-shaped band saw which vertically and horizontally cuts the cabbage by using one motor and the driving motor, which moves the cutting saw blade to the height of the center of the cabbage, and a screw-type height adjustment device.
