Provided are an emitter and a tube for drip irrigation which are capable of suppressing variations in the liquid discharge rate due to changes in the liquid pressure within the tube for drip irrigation. An emitter according to the present invention is provided to the inner wall of a tube having a discharge port, and regulates the discharge of an irrigation liquid from the interior of the tube to the exterior of the tube via the discharge port. The emitter comprises an intake part, a regulation part, a discharge part and a flow path. The regulation part comprises a recess and a film. The film is affixed so as to cover the internal space of the recess, and the region covering the internal space of the recess is a diaphragm section. The recess has a through hole that is on the interior of a cylindrical part in the bottom surface thereof, said through hole being connected to the discharge part, and has a slit that is connected to the through hole on the bottom surface thereof. On the bottom surface of the recess, the edge part forming the opening on the upper surface-side of the through hole, excluding the slit, serves as a seat for the film. When the emitter is installed within the tube, the diaphragm section of the film does not contact the seat when the liquid is not present within the tube, and is capable of being brought into contact with the seat by the liquid pressure when the liquid is present within the tube. The diaphragm section of the film exhibits a time differential when contacting the entire area of the seat.
