The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of Febuxostat and its crystalline form. In particular, the present invention provides an improved process for the preparation of crystalline Form-A of Febuxostat. The present invention also relates to processes, which comprising heating Febuxostat in suitable organic solvent and isolating crystalline Form-A of Febuxostat by addition of suitable anti-solvent.
