Disclosed is a cosmetic composition comprising: (i) at least one pyridine compound of Formula I or II: where, in said Formula I and in said Formula II, X is S or O； R, R1, R2, R3 are either —；H, —；SH, —；OH or a CMS saturated or unsaturated, =linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon group； Y is —；H, —；SH or CMS saturated or unsaturated, linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon group； (ii) an alkyl substituted resorcinol； and, (iii) a dermatologically acceptable base. Also disclosed is use of a pyridine compound of Formula I or II in the preparation of a cosmetic composition which provides enhanced TDD of an alkyl substituted resorcinol.
